Helping hands - Prince's Trust Volunteers erect a WASTE SHIP at Holsworthy Community FunDay

Following on from the 3rd Community "Space" FunDay at Holsworthy on Wednesday 22nd September held at the Community College, Mrs Recycle AKA Cathy Karniewicz, working for Torridge District Council to encourage Recycling and to re-think about how we could REUSE items that we just what we throw away !Many pupils are familiar with Mrs Recycle who visits all Torridge District Council schools with bags full of colourful resources, but today she had the additional advantage of the Prince's Trust Volunteers to erect a WASTE SHIP from clean unwanted packaging. Armed with bubble wrap, a tent frame and polystyrene packaging the team sewed the Space Ship together using more plastic waste next they covered a circular picnic table with silver paper to become the control / creating table. Finally they assisted by dressing as a SPACE WASTE BUSTER to entertain the younger visitors to the display and help them make their own control panel from bottle tops, sample CD's and plastic disposable spoons.
